Job summary

Coderio seeks a Senior Elixir Developer to join our remote-first team building scalable backend systems for global clients. You will design, build, and maintain distributed services with low latency and high concurrency, using Elixir, Phoenix, Ecto, and OTP, while mentoring teammates and guiding architectural decisions.

This role emphasizes collaboration with product, DevOps, and frontend colleagues in an agile environment, with a strong focus on code quality, testing, and scalable design.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in Backend Development
• Proficiency with Elixir, Phoenix Framework, Ecto, and OTP

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale highly concurrent backend applications and microservices using Elixir and Phoenix.
• Architect and implement resilient, distributed systems leveraging the BEAM ecosystem and OTP (GenServer, Supervisors, Tasks).
• Design, build, and integrate RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Optimize database queries and schema models using Ecto with PostgreSQL and non-relational databases.
• Enforce code quality, maintainability, and test coverage through unit testing, integration testing, and rigorous code reviews.
• Partner with product managers, DevOps engineers, and frontend developers in an agile environment.
• Participate in high-level architectural discussions, system design, and establishing engineering best practices.
