True Anomaly, Inc. seeks a Senior Elixir Software Engineer to drive the development of our distributed space-ground control system. You will own end-to-end features, set architectural direction, and mentor a team in a high-autonomy role.

You will work across satellite command/control, mission planning, data processing, and analysis, contributing to reliable, scalable systems with world-class benefits and equity.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development experience.
• Expert-level Elixir and OTP with BEAM internals.
• Deep expertise in fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Strong testing with ExUnit and property-based testing.
• Experience designing service architectures and inter-service communication.
• Fluency with gRPC, REST, and WebSocket services.
• Comfort across the stack including frontend code as needed.
• Git-based workflows with strong PR quality.
• U.S. citizen eligible for DoD Secret/TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver complex distributed system features end-to-end (design, production, iteration).
• Drive architectural direction for Elixir/OTP systems and establish team patterns.
• Address technical debt, reliability risks, and performance bottlenecks.
• Set quality bars via code reviews, testing, and reference implementations.
• Mentor junior/mid engineers through pairing and design discussions.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, backend, space operators, and engineers on architecture.
• Ship iteratively, breaking work into well-scoped increments; prioritize completion.
• Document decisions and patterns to aid onboarding.
