Job summary

RI Council 94 seeks a Supervising Eligibility Technician to plan, supervise, and review staff handling initial and continuing eligibility determinations for assistance programs. The role involves interviewing applicants, gathering information, and managing data/reporting tasks.

The position requires knowledge of federal/state law and departmental policies, plus strong supervisory and communication skills. Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm, 35 hours, on site in Pawtucket, RI.

Qualifications

• Education: two years of academic study in an accredited institution of higher learning.
• Experience: full-time work requiring evaluations/decisions based on interviews, applications, or records.
• Combination of education and experience may be acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Plan, assign, supervise and review the work of staff performing eligibility determinations (initial and continuing).
• Conduct interviews with applicants/recipients and provide information on eligibility requirements.
• Prepare data and reports including simple statistics and analyses.
• Refer cases to service personnel when specialized services are needed.
• Perform complex eligibility determinations involving several program areas.
