Job summary

RI Council 94 is seeking a Supervising Eligibility Technician to plan, assign, and review eligibility determinations for individuals applying for or receiving assistance payments. The role involves supervising a technical and clerical staff, conducting in-person interviews, and ensuring accurate information collection.

The position requires knowledge of federal and state laws governing eligibility, and experience with complex determinations across multiple programs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal and state law and regulations concerning eligibility for assistance payments.
• Ability to conduct thorough information gathering interviews and to follow written instructions.
• Experience in public assistance programs and supervising staff.

Responsibilities

• Plan, assign, supervise and review eligibility determinations (initial and continuing).
• Assist applicants/recipients with applications and supporting evidence; conduct interviews.
• Perform complex eligibility determinations involving several program areas.
• Collect data and prepare recurring and special reports with basic statistics.
• Refer cases to service personnel when additional needs are identified.
