Job summary

Solxsys Administrative Solutions in Michigan is seeking a Senior Eligibility Coordinator to serve as the department's subject matter expert for Taft-Hartley employee benefit plan eligibility. You will oversee complex transactions, mentor staff, and ensure eligibility records align with Plan Documents, Trust Agreements, ERISA, HIPAA, and company standards.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Five+ years of employee benefits or eligibility administration experience, preferably in a Taft-Hartley environment.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process and review complex eligibility transactions.
  • Interpret plan eligibility provisions and employer contribution requirements.
  • Mentor Eligibility Coordinators and provide technical guidance.
  • Resolve escalated participant, employer, and client inquiries.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews and recommend process improvements.
  • Coordinate with Claims, Pension, Accounting, and Client Services to ensure accurate eligibility records.
  • Assist with client implementations, testing, and special projects.
  • Meet established productivity, accuracy, and service standards.

Position Summary

The Senior Eligibility Coordinator serves as the department's subject matter expert for eligibility administration of Taft-Hartley employee benefit plans. This position oversees complex eligibility transactions, mentors staff, resolves escalated issues, and ensures eligibility records are maintained accurately and in accordance with Plan Documents, Trust Agreements, collective bargaining agreements, ERISA, HIPAA, and Solxsys standards.

Essential Functions
  • Process and review complex eligibility transactions.
  • Interpret plan eligibility provisions and employer contribution requirements.
  • Mentor Eligibility Coordinators and provide technical guidance.
  • Resolve escalated participant, employer, and client inquiries.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews and recommend process improvements.
  • Coordinate with Claims, Pension, Accounting, and Client Services to ensure accurate eligibility records.

Compliance & Information Security Responsibilities

Protect confidential participant, employer, and client information. Follow documented procedures, internal controls, ERISA, HIPAA, Trust Agreements, and company policies. Support SOC compliance objectives, participate in audits, and promptly report security incidents or control deficiencies.

Physical Requirements

Primarily office-based work requiring prolonged computer use, telephone communication, and occasional lifting of files up to 20 pounds.
