Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group is seeking a Process Engineer to develop and optimize post-SMT manufacturing processes including conformal coating, dispensing, potting, and mechanical assembly. You will collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Production, Maintenance, NPI, and customer teams to ensure processes are capable, repeatable, efficient, and compliant.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electronics manufacturing or related activities.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree or equivalent hands-on experience may be considered.
• Strong understanding of electronics manufacturing and ability to read BOMs and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Backend process engineering: develop, validate, maintain, and optimize backend manufacturing processes (conformal coating, dispensing, potting, assembly, packaging, DIP).
• Define and control process parameters, recipes, sequences, and acceptance criteria.
• Develop assembly methods, workstation requirements, tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing sequences.
• Troubleshoot backend manufacturing defects and process-related issues; improve quality and productivity.
• Conformal coating/dispensing/potting: optimize coating programs, masking, thickness, and curing parameters.
• Support NPI and production launches; review designs for DFM/DFA; develop process flows and documentation.
• Participate in PFMEA, Control Plan, root-cause analysis, and production readiness reviews.
• Quality, documentation, and continuous improvement: analyze defects, support audits, maintain SOPs and PFMEAs; drive lean initiatives.
