Job summary

Performance Drone Works (PDW) in Huntsville, AL seeks an experienced Buyer III - Electronics & PCBA to lead electronics procurement, manage BOMs, and drive supplier partnerships. You will place orders, resolve shortages, and guide cross-functional teams on sourcing alternatives through complex decisions.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on PCBAs purchase experience, deep electronics market knowledge, and strong negotiation and project-management skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years in procurement, strategic sourcing, or manufacturing operations with electronics focus.
• Hands-on experience sourcing PCBAs and electronic components across prototypes to production.

Responsibilities

• Serve as procurement SME for electronics, including PCBAs and related hardware.
• Place and expedite purchase orders; manage shortages and delivery issues to support production.
• Assess sourcing alternatives and provide cross-functional recommendations.
• Lead RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs with Eng and Supply Chain for BOMs, fabrication, assembly, and testing.
• Identify suppliers and sources; negotiate terms, lead times, and capacity.
• Mentor junior buyers and planners; document supplier knowledge and build backup capability.
