Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Rancho Bernardo, CA seeks a Principal Electronics Payloads Subsystems Engineer to join the Avionics Integration Organization. The role requires a self-starter capable of working in an IPT, providing engineering support for a payloads subsystem, reporting to the technical lead and program manager.

The position emphasizes readiness and post-test support, system checkout, and coordination with SMEs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of related engineering experience; OR Master’s with 3 years; OR PhD with 1 year.
• Practical experience working with payload systems.
• Technical development and systems integration experience.
• Experience with managing suppliers.
• Must have an active US Government Top-Secret Clearance (with BI within past 6 years or Continuous Evaluation).
• Ability to obtain and maintain US Government SCI clearance
• Must be able to obtain SAP clearance within a reasonable time.

Responsibilities

• Meeting readiness reviews, site-specific training, test briefs and debriefs, security coordination with test directors.
• Post-test support: review, analysis, defect investigation of test logs and data files; hardware/software troubleshooting.
• Pre-test support: test planning to ensure objectives are achieved and results stay within specifications.
• Coordinate anomalies with engineering and supplier Subject Matter Experts; review service bulletins and track discrepancies.
