Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in San Diego, CA seeks a Principal Engineer Electronics - Payloads. The role is on-site with no remote option, eligible for up to 10% travel, and reports to the subsystem lead and program manager.

The candidate will provide engineering support for a payloads subsystem, coordinating with suppliers and internal teams, and ensuring integration and test readiness across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of related engineering experience.
• Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years of related engineering experience.
• PhD in a STEM discipline with 1 year of related engineering experience.
• Practical experience working with payload systems.
• Technical development and systems integration experience.
• Experience with managing suppliers.
• Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance.

Responsibilities

• Meeting readiness reviews, training, test briefs and debriefs; security coordination.
• Post-test review, analysis and defect investigation of test data; hardware/software troubleshooting.
• Pre-test support including test planning to meet objectives and specs.
• Coordinate anomalies with engineering and supplier SMEs; review SBs and training for software upgrades.
