Canoo is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to lead the development and sourcing of in-house control units and ensure requirements are met. You will be hands-on across the engineering spectrum, supporting all functions and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of automotive electronics design, mixed-signal expertise, and strong documentation skills. The role is on-site and focused on delivering robust ECUs for rugged automotive environments.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Physics or related STEM field.
5+ years designing automotive electronics with mixed-signal hardware.
Experience with CAN/LIN/Ethernet and hardware validation.
Strong documentation, traceability and fault analysis skills.
Familiarity with EMC best practices and testing.

Responsibilities

Capture system requirements and translate into a technical specification tying HW and SW.
Select components and perform schematic capture.
Architect ECU to meet rugged automotive environmental requirements.
Create documentation for robustness: SI, Power Budget, WCA, DFMEA, FSA.
Collaborate with PCB Designer and Mechanical Engineer on layouts.
Develop and execute engineering and validation test plans focusing on bring-up.
Coordinate with Programs and Supply Chain to meet cost targets and schedules.
Work with validation teams to verify operation to specification.
Integrate final design into vehicle or subsystem and perform DVP&R planning.
Log, track and drive closure of product issues during testing.
