Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) is seeking a Senior Electronics & Communications Engineer to join the Electronics and Communications Engineering team in the San Francisco Bay Area. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electronics engineering, computer science or a closely related field.
• Three (3) years of verifiable professional electronics or communications engineering experience.
• Knowledge of electronics and communications engineering program operations.
• Experience with voice/data and fare collection systems; and microprocessors.
• Ability to read designs, specifications, and plans; use test equipment like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Programming languages relevant to project areas.
• Project scheduling, budget administration, and contract administration skills.
• Leadership and training capabilities for junior staff.
• Strong written and oral communication with District officials, contractors, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced engineering across the full project lifecycle: design, development, testing, and maintenance of electronics and communications systems.
• Establish schedules and methods for engineering support; monitor contracted services; allocate resources as needed.
• Provide engineering and software support during design reviews, testing, and implementation of projects.
• Develop and integrate data into new systems; ensure system compatibility and testing adherence.
• Coordinate installation, testing, and interfaces; review submittals for conformance to drawings and specs.
• Prepare documentation; manage design revisions and change orders; participate in policy development and improvements.
