Job summary

San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) invites applications for a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design and retrofit efforts for bridges, tunnels, stations, and other transit facilities. The role requires California PE and strong collaboration across disciplines.

You will supervise staff, develop engineering solutions, and ensure safety and long-term performance of critical infrastructure in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in structural engineering.
• 3 years of verifiable professional structural engineering experience.
• Registration as a professional engineer in the State of California.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex design for transit facilities including bridges, tunnels, stations and other structures.
• Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, specs and cost estimates; provide design support during construction.
• Inspect sites, review submittals and coordinate with consultants and contractors.
