Job summary
BART is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to help maintain and enhance the Bay Area’s transit infrastructure. You will lead structural projects involving bridges, tunnels, stations, and other facilities under supervision, delivering safe and reliable performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES include developing engineering design and analysis, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with codes and standards while advancing innovative solutions for critical infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in structural engineering from an accredited college.
- Three (3) years of verifiable professional structural engineering experience.
- Registration as a professional engineer in California.
- Experience designing for transportation or large public infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Prepare structural design plans and specifications for District facilities such as stations and bridges.
- Perform design calculations, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates; support construction.
- Inspect structures and recommend engineering solutions for repair or maintenance.
- Coordinate with other divisions and manage documentation for contracts.
