Senior Electronic Warfare Mission Engineer - Autonomy & Air

Anduril; Costa Mesa (CA); On-site; USD 180,000 - 240,000; Full time

Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Mission Systems Engineer focused on Electronic Warfare to join the AD&S mission systems team. You will define EW capabilities for Group 5 autonomous platforms, determining which threats to counter and how to deliver mission-level effects while aligning with platform power, SWaP, and mission duration requirements.

You will lead modeling, simulation, and threat-emulation environments, coordinate with subcontractors and internal teams, and drive EW payload

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in electronic warfare systems engineering, EW capability development, or EW systems analysis.
• Expert level understanding of the algorithms underlying electronic support and electronic attack systems.
• Expert level understanding of EW methods of employment and how they change with threat mode, geometry, and range.
• Experience building and reviewing EW and RF link budgets including ERP, receiver sensitivity, and dynamic range.

Responsibilities

• Define the electronic warfare capability of Group 5 autonomous platforms—threat sets to be countered, effects to be delivered, and the mission-level EW requirements.
• Own the electronic support chain end-to-end—wideband channelization, PDW generation, emitter classification, and geolocation—and specify onboard processing.
• Define and validate electronic attack employment—technique selection, DRFM-based deception, jamming assignment and power management, and operational envelopes.
• Run and review EW link budgets—ERP, receiver sensitivity, dynamic range, J/S, and antenna patterns; translate margins into employment options for mission planners.
• Build and maintain modeling, simulation, and threat-emulation environments to evaluate EW effectiveness and lab benches to characterize payload performance.
• Own the selection, integration, and lab-to-flight qualification of EW payloads with budget constraints for Group 5 airframes.
• Collaborate with RF, networking, avionics, autonomy, and software engineers to deconflict EW operation with the platform’s datalinks and sensors.
