Job summary

Anduril Industries seeks a Senior Mission Systems Engineer focused on Electronic Warfare to own how Group 5 autonomous platforms sense and counter electromagnetic threats. You will model budgets, specify processing, and guide EW payload integration from lab to flight, working across RF, avionics, and software teams.

Ideal candidates have extensive EW experience, expertise in channelization, PDW processing, and geolocation, and a track record of delivering EW capabilities within constrained SWaP

Qualifications

  • A sincere commitment to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture.
  • 12+ years experience in electronic warfare systems engineering, EW capability development, or EW systems analysis
  • Expert level understanding of the algorithms underlying electronic support and electronic attack systems - including channelization, pulse deinterleaving and PDW processing, emitter classification, direction finding and geolocation, and technique generation
  • Expert level understanding of EW methods of employment - how ES and EA capabilities are tasked, planned, and employed against a threat laydown, and how technique selection changes with threat mode, geometry, and range
  • Demonstrated ability to build and critically review EW and RF link budgets, including ERP, receiver sensitivity and dynamic range, J/S ratio, bu

Responsibilities

  • Define the electronic warfare capability of Group 5 autonomous platforms - threat sets to be countered, effects to be delivered, and the mission‑level EW requirements that follow from them
  • Own the electronic support chain end‑to‑end - wideband channelization, pulse descriptor word generation and deinterleaving, emitter classification and specific emitter identification, and direction finding and geolocation - and specify the onboard processing needed to close it
  • Define and validate electronic attack employment - technique selection and generation, DRFM‑based deception, jamming assignment and power management - and the geometry, timeline, and J/S and burn‑through conditions under which each technique actually works
  • Run and review EW link budgets - ERP, receiver sensitivity and dynamic range, probability of intercept, and antenna pattern and aperture placement - and translate the available margin into concrete employment options and range envelopes for the mission planners
  • Build and maintain modeling, simulation, and threat‑emulation environments to evaluate EW effectiveness against representative threat laydowns, and lab benches to characterize payload performance in contested and degraded conditions prior to flight
  • Own the selection, integration, and lab‑to‑flight qualification of EW payloads - including vendor and subcontractor technical direction - within the power, cooling, SWaP, and mission‑duration budgets of a Group 5 airframe
  • Collaborate with RF, networking, avionics, autonomy, and software engineers to deconflict EW operation against the platform's own datalinks and sensors, and translate mission requirements into EW system engineering specifications traced through design, test, and flight

Job description

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century's most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril's family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting‑edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

Anduril's Air Dominance and Strike (AD&S) mission systems team is seeking a Senior Mission Systems Engineer with a focus on Electronic Warfare to join our team. The AD&S mission systems team is responsible for developing end‑to‑end "mission-ized" autonomous air systems capable of delivering exceptional warfighter outcomes to our customers.

As a Senior Mission Systems Engineer for Electronic Warfare, you will own how our Group 5 autonomous platforms sense, characterize, and act on the electromagnetic spectrum. An Ideal candidate will be able to derive the effective radiated power or receiver sensitivity link budgets and then decide what to do with it -- which emitters matter, which technique defeats them, at what geometry and range, and what that demands of the airframe's power, SWaP, and mission profile. The right person has deep, specific electronic warfare experience: fluency in the algorithms inside electronic support and electronic attack systems, and real understanding of how those systems are tasked, planned, and employed against a live threat laydown. You will begin with mission-level outcomes and drive to solutions through appropriate modeling of the solution, domain expertise, and vendor engagement. This will require taking ownership of subcontractor and/or internal technical development efforts and working across various Anduril internal teams to appropriately integrate capabilities. If you are someone who enjoys defining and delivering compelling next‑generation autonomous capabilities through rigorous modeling and exploration of system trades followed by hands on integration in the lab and on the vehicle, then this role is for you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Define the electronic warfare capability of Group 5 autonomous platforms - threat sets to be countered, effects to be delivered, and the mission‑level EW requirements that follow from them
  • Own the electronic support chain end‑to‑end - wideband channelization, pulse descriptor word generation and deinterleaving, emitter classification and specific emitter identification, and direction finding and geolocation - and specify the onboard processing needed to close it

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • A sincere commitment to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture
