Job summary

SIG SAUER, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Sustaining Engineer, Electromechanical Systems, to maintain and improve existing electromechanical products.

You will troubleshoot complex production issues, implement design enhancements, and coordinate changes with QA, Operations and R&D. The role emphasizes mentorship, CAD/PLM documentation, and cross-functional collaboration. You will lead value engineering efforts, validate changes, and ensure on-time delivery while supporting suppliers and sustaining

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering.
• 7–10 years in sustaining or production engineering.
• Strong electromechanical systems experience (mechanical assemblies, PCBAs, wiring, embedded hardware).
• Expert in SOLIDWORKS; working knowledge of Altium Designer for PCBA support.
• Hands-on electrical debugging tools and hardware bring-up.
• Embedded systems knowledge and basic programming (C).
• GD&T and tolerance stack analysis expertise.
• Experience with suppliers and contract manufacturers to resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in electromechanical systems in production and field environments.
• Implement engineering changes to mechanical and electrical designs, ensuring compatibility with product architecture.
• Perform root cause analysis on failures using structured methodologies.
• Manage engineering changes through PLM systems with revision control and traceability.
• Analyze test data and field returns to drive corrective actions across mechanical and electrical domains.
• Lead validation testing for design changes across functional, durability, and environmental tests.
• Support manufacturing and contract suppliers to resolve assembly and interface issues.
• Incorporate DFM/DFT feedback to improve manufacturability and reliability.
• Mentor engineers, drive cross-functional PPI efforts, and uphold 5S sustainment.
• Drive continuous improvement for reliability, cost reduction, and production yield.
