Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is seeking a seasoned engineer to own A1B propulsion plant valve/component designs, including design, qualification, procurement support, and shipboard installation. The role requires strong problem-solving and communication skills to support fleet needs and vendor interactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 9 years of exempt experience.
• Master’s degree with 7 years of relevant professional experience.
• Ph.D. with 4 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Owns A1B propulsion plant valve/component designs, including design, qualification, procurement support, shipboard installation and test support.
• Provides maintenance instructions and fleet support for propulsion plant valves/components.
• Collaborates with engineers to ensure technical accuracy and timely reporting, tracking, and status updates.
