Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, seeks a seasoned engineer to apply electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to propulsion systems for U.S. Navy carriers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 9 years of relevant exempt experience with Bachelor's.
• Master’s Degree with 7 years of relevant experience.
• Ph.D. with 4 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Apply electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems.
• Construct developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components; perform quality testing.
• Support design and supplier collaboration for propulsion plant machinery.
• Provide technical writing and documentation for complex systems.
