Econolite is seeking a Lead Assembly Technician in San Diego, CA to oversee electro-mechanical assembly and testing of traffic controllers and related electronics. You will manage scheduling, mentor assemblers, and ensure on-time, high-quality production while adhering to safety and quality standards.

The role requires hands-on experience with soldering micro-electronics, reading schematics, and leading production teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in electro-mechanical product assembly and testing.
• Minimum 2 years as production lead or supervisor.
• Minimum 3 years soldering micro-electronics.
• Technical training and certification preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to lift 35+ pounds and use hand tools.
• Proficiency following documented work instructions and attention to detail.
• Computer skills (Microsoft Office and other software).
• Team-oriented with good communication with peers and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Lead and train electro-mechanical assemblers and testers.
• Follow documented work instructions for assembly, testing, burn-in, and packaging.
• Manage scheduling and workflow; delegate tasks and generate production reports.
• Maintain high-quality production with urgency and customer satisfaction.
• Lead daily stand-up meetings and participate in status meetings with Operations.
• Coordinate with Quality Control and repair personnel; participate in ISO audits.
• Provide feedback for employee performance reviews.
