Rivian is seeking an electromagnetic engineer to lead the in-house design of e-machines for its electric propulsion systems. You will define electrical and mechanical specifications, conduct electromagnetic analysis, and develop modeling tools to predict performance and accelerate design iterations.

You will collaborate across Thermal, Mechanical, NVH, Vehicle Integration and Validation labs to ensure reliability and cost-down targets.

Qualifications

• PhD in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in electromagnetic design of e-machines and 5+ years of experience.
• Experience in IPM/PM and induction machines with high torque and power density.
• Proficient with electromagnetic tools (JMAG, COMSOL, ANSYS Maxwell) and MATLAB/Simulink.

Responsabilités

• Lead in-house electromagnetic design of e-machines to support product development.
• Determine electrical and mechanical specs for Rivian e-machines.
• Perform EM analysis, modeling, and design of electric machines.
• Develop, verify, and optimize modeling tools and design processes.
• Create test plans and validate electromagnetic and thermal performance.
• Collaborate with Thermal, Mechanical, NVH, and Vehicle teams.
