Your resume and cover letter, tailored to exactly what they’re hiring for.
Rivian is seeking an electromagnetic engineer to lead the in-house design of e-machines for its electric propulsion systems. You will define electrical and mechanical specifications, conduct electromagnetic analysis, and develop modeling tools to predict performance and accelerate design iterations.
You will collaborate across Thermal, Mechanical, NVH, Vehicle Integration and Validation labs to ensure reliability and cost-down targets.
About Rivian Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract. As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations. Role Summary As an electromagnetic engineer you will be responsible for the electromagnetic design, modeling, and detailed analysis of high-performance electric motors and actuators. At this role you will additionally focus on developing advanced computational methods, analytical modeling algorithms, and multi-objective optimization tools to improve simulation fidelity and accelerate design iterations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams in Thermal, Mechanical, NVH, Vehicle Integration, and Physical Validation Labs to ensure automotive-grade reliability, efficiency, and cost-down targets. You will provide technical support for component-level testing. You will be responsible to establish simulation-to-test alignment pipelines to continuously improve finite element accuracy and reduce physical prototyping iterations. You will collaborate cross-functionally to resolve manufacturing and production issues. You will provide technical root-cause analysis and support troubleshooting for prototype builds and high-volume production line issues.
