Job summary

Brooksource in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced Electro-Mechanical Designer for a hybrid contract-to-hire position. You will develop equipment systems and layouts, create assembly and detail drawings from electrical drawings and BOMs, and produce 3D models using ACAD 3D and SolidWorks.

The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, production-level drawings, and adherence to industry standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of electro-mechanical design experience, preferably in power distribution, generator controls, VFDs, and MCCs.
• Hands-on knowledge of electrical systems, including switchgear, control panels, and VFDs.
• Proficient in ACAD 3D and SolidWorks for system and structural design tasks.
• Experience with weldments, skid design, sheet metal design, power distribution, and cable routing.
• Familiarity with NEC, IEC, IEE, NFPA, ABS and other relevant codes.

Responsibilities

• Interpret electrical drawings, BOMs, general arrangement drawings, and industry standards for project requirements.
• Create 3D models and detail drawings, sectional views, fabrication and assembly views, and BOM callouts in ACAD 3D and SolidWorks.
• Generate design specifications and supporting documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
• Collaborate with electrical, project, operations, field service, and sales teams to ensure deliverables.
• Conduct design reviews to verify adherence to customer specifications and standards.
• Support production teams in resolving issues during manufacturing and assembly.
• Manage design process from inception through delivery; assist sales with project proposals.
