Job summary

Jungheinrich is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer in Houston to join the Product Development and Construction team. The role involves designing electrical systems for mobile machinery, creating schematics and BOMs, and coordinating with suppliers to bring products into production. Travel may be required.

The position emphasizes collaboration with mechanical, hydraulic, and test engineers, plus interface with manufacturing teams during production transitions. Occasional travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Cradle-to-production design and testing of electrical systems with 0–3 years preferred.
• Experience in mobile machine design is desirable.
• Ability to use electrical testing equipment (oscilloscopes, generators, programmable loads).
• Knowledge of CAN/CANopen protocols and related tools.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office; English fluency required; German a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design parts and simple assemblies within defined boundary conditions.
• Create electrical schematics and cable harnesses.
• Specify hardware and software to control trucks with safety features.
• Produce drawings and BOMs per company standards.
• Support prototype construction, testing, and commissioning; coordinate with suppliers.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.
