Current Power in Houston seeks a Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer to lead a talented design team, ensure high-quality electro‑mechanical solutions, and translate project priorities into tangible deliverables.

The role partners with Electrical, Operations, and fabrication to optimize layouts, verify performance, and sustain design standards. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in electro‑mechanical design within industrial environments, strong CAD/PDМ expertise, and proven leadership.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years in electro‑mechanical design in industrial/manufacturing settings.
• Experience leading and supervising mechanical designers, including workload management.
• Advanced proficiency with 3D CAD and PDM tools (SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical principles, tolerancing, fabrication methods, and MF design.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise and develop the Mechanical Design team, assign work and manage performance.
• Plan and balance design resources across active projects with leadership.
• Lead design reviews and approve mechanical deliverables.
• Coordinate with Electrical Engineers for optimized layouts and cable routing.
• Support manufacturability and field installation with Operations and fabrication teams.
• Drive design validation for structural, thermal, and environmental performance.
