Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Melbourne, FL seeks a Principal Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer (Level 3) to join the Vehicle Engineering team. You will develop test procedures and hardware integration for avionics and electrical systems.

A STEM degree with 5+ years of related experience (or a Master’s with 3+ years, or a PhD with 1+ year) plus the ability to obtain Secret clearance is required. Experience with NX/Teamcenter/CATIA/SolidWorks is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a STEM degree with 5+ years of related experience, or a Master’s with 3+ years, or a PhD with 1+ year.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance.
• Experience writing test-related procedures is required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT, Project, Visio).

Responsibilities

• Write test-related procedures and manuals for avionics and electrical systems.
• Support wiring design and 3D routing in NG standards; design and release cable/wiring installations.
• Perform mechanical design for electronics packaging and enclosures.
• Design sheet metal, machined, thermoformed parts and support PCB/assembly integration.
• Collaborate with engineers across multiple disciplines to resolve issues quickly.
• Communicate technical information clearly in written and verbal forms.
