Job summary

RTX in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Designer/Engineer to create precision mechanical and electrical design layouts under minimal supervision. You will prepare records for design data release and tutor junior designers, working with mechanical and electrical teams.

The role requires AA/AS degree with 8+ years experience and hands-on 3D CAD tools (NX, Creo, SolidWorks, CATIA, Inventor; Siemens NX preferred). The package includes extensive benefits and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Typically requires an AA/AS degree with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience.
• Experience with 3D CAD software packages (NX, Creo, SolidWorks, CATIA, Autodesk Inventor, etc.) is required.
• Experience with Siemens NX is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create precision mechanical or electrical design layouts per verbal instructions, sketches, or existing hardware or engineering lab models.
• Prepare records for release of design data and documentation into the company data and documentation control systems.
• Mentor new mechanical designers or engineers in current procedures for design database and documentation release.
• Assist engineering in determining and employing proper specifications for materials, finishes and processes, connectors or other electrical components.
• Apply company, industry and contractual standards during the preparation of hardware design and documentation.
• Complete the preparation of the necessary technical documentation for the release of hardware design data into the company documentation control system.
• Assist in the preparation of data & documentation during revision of released artifacts.
• Maintain awareness of contractually controlled company design and documentation requirements.
