What You Will Do

• May perform tasks in a classified closed lab environment
• Under general supervision: Performs moderately technical tasks using established engineering techniques to create precision mechanical/electrical design layouts from verbal instructions, sketches, existing hardware, or engineering models; collaborates with and receives direction from mechanical/electrical engineering and technical support personnel.
• Performs the preparation of required records for the release of design data and design documentation into the company data and documentation control systems.
• May assist in the area of mentoring new mechanical designers or engineers in the current procedures for design database and documentation release.
• May assist engineering in determining and employing proper specifications for materials, finishes, and processes, connectors or other electrical components, etc. during the design process.
• Applies company, industry, and contractual standards during the preparation of hardware design and documentation.
• Completes the preparation of the necessary technical documentation for the release of hardware design data into the company documentation control system.
• Assists engineering in the preparation of data & documentation during the revision of released artifacts in the document control system.
• Maintains an awareness of contractually controlled company design and documentation requirements.
• CAD/data management tools: Demonstrates competent proficiency
• Problem solving & judgment: Manages moderately complex tasks independently. Problems may involve multiple factors but remain within familiar contexts. Draws on practical experience to choose effective solutions. Judgment is reliable for day‑to‑day decisions and considers short-term impacts.

Qualifications

• You Must Have Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience Ability to obtain a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements. 1+ years experience in 3D modeling using SolidWorks or Siemens

The salary range for this role is 43,400 USD - 82,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
