Vertiv (ERS / HVM) is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing to perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV. This role requires up to 75% travel regionally and nationally.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification current and in good standing.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Strong knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Proficiency with key test equipment (Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF).
• Ability to read/interpret diagrams and PIDs.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Willingness to travel regionally up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Test insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance on transformers, switchgear, cables, and breakers.
• Interpret test results and author engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians in the field and lead multi-discipline teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E, OSHA.
