Placements24 is seeking a Senior Electrical Technician for a major mining conglomerate in Randburg, Gauteng. The role focuses on maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems in a demanding mining environment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years post-qualification experience as an Electrician, with strong MV/LV knowledge, safety compliance, and the ability to work shifts and respond to call-outs.

Qualifications

• Trade certificate or national diploma in electrical engineering.
• Post-qualification experience in mining or heavy industrial environment.
• Ability to read complex electrical drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled electrical maintenance, installation and repair on mining equipment.
• Troubleshoot faults in low/medium voltage systems and control panels.
• Inspect and maintain electrical equipment to prevent failures.
• Install and commission new equipment per specs and safety standards.
• Maintain electrical maintenance records and reports.
• Provide guidance to junior technicians and artisans.
• Respond to electrical emergencies and breakdowns as needed.
