Placements24 is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician for our client in Randburg, Gauteng. The role demands strong mechanical and electrical maintenance expertise, diagnostic ability, and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance on complex industrial machinery.

You will diagnose faults, install and test new equipment, read technical drawings, and maintain detailed maintenance records while upholding strict safety standards.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification (Electrician or Mechanical Fitter) required.
• Minimum 5 years in a Senior Maintenance Technician role in industrial/manufacturing.
• Skilled at diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical systems, PLC knowledge.
• Strong hydraulic and pneumatic systems understanding.
• Able to read complex technical drawings and schematics.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Safety-focused.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on a wide range of industrial machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults efficiently and effectively.
• Install, commission, and test new machinery as required.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics to guide repair and maintenance activities.
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
• Implement and adhere to strict safety protocols during all maintenance operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex machinery issues to minimize production downtime.
• Assist in developing and improving maintenance procedures and schedules.
• Mentor junior technicians and provide guidance on technical matters.
