Job summary

PEMEX Deer Park is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to serve as the Technical Authority for electrical systems across the project portfolio, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant design, installation, testing, and commissioning.

You will provide engineering governance, technical assurance, and field support, aligning with PEMEX Deer Park standards, NFPA 70E, NEC, and industry best practices while guiding contractors and suppliers toward quality execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required; 15+ years of electrical engineering experience in petrochemical environments preferred.
• Strong knowledge of PEMEX DPSs, NFPA 70E, and NEC applicable to refinery/industrial settings.
• Experience reviewing/approving contractor deliverables, electrical studies, and equipment specifications.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Technical Authority for electrical systems across PEMEX Deer Park projects and ensure governance, safety, and compliance.
• Provide technical direction to engineering contractors and ensure adherence to standards and project specifications.
• Review engineering design packages at IFC/IFD levels; lead detailed engineering oversight with EPC/contractors.
• Support construction phase with field engineering, troubleshooting, testing oversight, energization readiness, and turnover.
• Lead QA/QC efforts, inspections, FAT/SAT activities, and vendor evaluations.
• Ensure safety programs (NFPA 70E) and electrical safety culture across projects.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance for seamless project execution.
• Mentor junior engineers and support staffing plans for construction and commissioning.
