YOUR MISSION

True Anomaly is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design and develop electrical system architectures for our next-generation space vehicles. You willbe responsible fordefining system-level electrical architectures, performing system reliability analysis, and ensuring seamless integration of power, data, and control systems across the spacecraft. Working at the intersection of hardware design and systems engineering, you will translate mission requirements into robust electrical system solutions that meet performance, reliability, and mass constraints for space flight operations. This role emphasizes systems-level thinking — understanding how electrical subsystems interact and ensuring the overall architecture meets mission needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop electrical system architectures and block diagrams for spacecraft avionics, including power distribution networks, grounding schemes, and signal routing topologies
• Create and maintain system-level block diagrams, functional flow diagrams, and architecture documentation to communicate design intent across engineering teams
• Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for electrical systems to identify potential failure modes, assess risk, and drive design improvements
• Review and evaluate electrical components, parts, and COTS products to ensure they meet mission requirements, reliability standards, and environmental specifications
• Perform component selection and qualification planning including evaluation of radiation tolerance, temperature range, voltage margins, and derating requirements
• Develop electrical interface requirements and specifications for avionics components including flight computers, sensors, actuators, and communication systems
• Perform electrical system analysis including power budgets, voltage drop calculations, fault analysis, and load flow studies to ensure system performance and reliability
• Design custom avionics hardware including power conditioning units, motor controllers, sensor interface boards, and data acquisition systems for space applications
• Create detailed electrical schematics, BOMs, and design documentation using industry-standard CAD tools (Altium, OrCAD, or similar)
• Conduct worst-case circuit analysis, derating studies, and reliability assessments to ensure designs meet space qualification requirements
• Define and manage electrical interfaces between subsystems including mechanical mounting, thermal management, and electromagnetic compatibility
• Develop and execute test plans for electrical system verification including functional testing, environmental qualification, and EMI/EMC testing
