Job summary

The State Public Works Division (SPWD) in Nevada seeks a licensed electrical engineer to lead a diverse portfolio of capital improvement projects in Las Vegas. You will manage planning, design, bidding, and construction, ensuring scope, budget, and schedule compliance while guiding internal and contracted design teams.

Success requires deep expertise in power distribution, emergency systems, lighting, low-voltage building systems, and access control, with a focus on safe, well-planned state

Qualifications

• Licensed electrical engineer in Nevada or eligible within 12 months.
• Three years of professional electrical engineering experience in major projects.
• Experience with capital improvement programs and public works.
• Ability to manage contracts, budgets, and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of capital improvement and construction projects.
• Develop scopes, budgets, schedules, and technical criteria.
• Review plans, specifications, cost estimates, and documents for codes.
• Negotiate and administer A/E contracts with regulatory coordination.
• Oversee bidding, change orders, and construction contract oversight.
• Coordinate with agencies, stakeholders, and project teams.
