Job summary

The State Public Works Division (SPWD) seeks a licensed electrical engineer to lead a diverse portfolio of capital improvement construction projects across Nevada from its Carson City hub within the Department of Administration.

You will oversee all phases of project development, including scopes, budgets, contracts, bid processes, and change orders, while delivering professional electrical design services for in-house projects and peer reviews of external designs.

Qualifications

Licensure as a professional electrical engineer is required at appointment and to remain employed.
3 years of professional electrical engineering experience in major construction projects and capital improvement programs.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage a portfolio of capital improvement construction projects across Nevada from planning through completion.
Prepare project scopes, budgets, and schedules; review and approve plans, specs, and cost estimates.
Administer A/E contracts and coordinate with regulatory agencies for codes and permitting requirements.
Oversee bidding, bid openings, change orders, and contract administration.
Provide electrical design support for in-house projects and peer review for contracted designs.
