Position Responsibilities for Electrical Project Manager:
- Coordinate meetings and activities as directed by the V.P. Operations.
- Manage schedules, project progress, shop drawing requirements, and material deliveries with supervisors, trade contractors, and suppliers.
- Monitor project performance to ensure completion within schedules, budgets, and quality standards, in full compliance with plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
- Assist employees in identifying and resolving obstacles to meet project schedules.
- Work with Project Coordinators on personnel alignment and scheduling.
- Assist in timely billing, invoice approval, and review of project costs and reports.
- Conduct weekly project progress meetings with V.P. Operations.
- Review blueprints and project documents to formulate management approaches.
- Participate in project estimating to ensure projects are attainable within quotes and timelines.
- Oversee subcontractors and monitor their performance for compliance.
- Participate in employee performance reviews.
- Build and maintain cooperative relationships with managers, supervisors, coworkers, and clients.
- Perform routine inspections to verify scope, specifications, standards, and code compliance.
- Maintain knowledge of building construction and electrical formulas.
- Plan and organize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Document project situations accurately and timely.
- Follow NEC, state, and local codes.
- Manage work behavior and adapt management style as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of security, fire alarm, process control, environmental systems, and mechanical systems interfacing with electrical work.
- Enforce OSHA requirements.
- Report accidents or incidents promptly.
- Inspect subcontractor performance and assist in project closeouts.
- Develop new business relationships and maintain existing ones through community and professional engagement.
- Utilize company estimating software for change orders and estimates.
- Participate in ongoing training.
Experience and Qualification Requirements:
- Minimum of 4 years experience in commercial and/or residential electrical fields.
- Experience in new construction.
- Valid driver’s license.
Qualification Requirements:
- Knowledge of multi-family projects.
- Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, sit, lift as required.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to use arms and hands for signaling, grabbing, holding, and operating tools.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work at heights, climb ladders and scaffolds with fall protection.
- Work in all weather conditions wearing PPE.
- Wear required PPE including hard hats, safety glasses, ear plugs, masks, vests, gloves, and safety boots.
