Job Description: Construction Project Manager

We are a dynamic development company embarking on an exciting new 228-unit multi-family project. To ensure the successful delivery of this and future projects, we seek a Construction Project Manager with a robust skill set in drawing coordination and bidding processes. This role offers an opportunity to be part of a growing team with long-term potential.

Key Responsibilities

Drawing Coordination

1. Understanding and Reviewing Plans
   • Proficient in interpreting architectural, structural, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) drawings.
2. Overlaying and Clash Detection
   • Overlay architectural and structural drawings to ensure alignment and detect potential clashes, especially involving MEP systems.
3. Software Expertise
   • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
   • Experience with Revit is a significant advantage.
4. Measurements and Markups
   • Extract precise measurements from drawings and provide accurate data as needed.
   • Create and update markups for RFIs and other project-related tasks.

Bidding Support

1. Quantity Takeoffs
   • Conduct detailed takeoffs for various project components (e.g., bathtubs, doors) and compile them into organized formats.
2. Excel Documentation
   • Utilize Excel to create clear, visually appealing sheets for takeoffs and documentation.
3. Bid Leveling
   • Compare multiple vendor proposals (e.g., plumbing, HVAC) and prepare bid leveling sheets to ensure alignment with project requirements.

Additional Duties

• Assist with daily job site logs and reporting.
• Collaborate closely with team members to manage project timelines and deliverables.

Requirements and Preferences

• Experience:

  • US-based construction experience is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-family or mixed-use construction projects. (Single-family residential experience is not sufficient.)

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit experience is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with Procore project management software is a plus.
  • MEP knowledge to quickly assess details like sprinkler head counts.

• Language Skills:

  • Native-level English proficiency with excellent communication skills.
  • Candidates with a neutral or native-like accent preferred.

• Tools and Technology:

  • Advanced Excel skills for takeoff sheets and documentation.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to project-specific software.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking candidates from South Africa or Latin America, particularly those with prior US construction experience. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, skilled in coordination and communication, and eager to contribute to high-profile projects.

Work Schedule & Compensation

• Schedule: Flexible, with an initial proposal of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST.
• Compensation: Competitive and negotiable based on experience and market conditions.
