Job summary

Actalent in Hillsborough, NJ is seeking an experienced Project Lead for building design projects spanning feasibility reports, baselines, basis of design, and detailed design. You will oversee scope, budget, and staffing with the Project Manager.

Responsibilities include coordinating with code officials and design professionals, leading the project team, performing electrical calculations, and reviewing budgets and contractor payments. The role is hybrid in Hillsborough, NJ.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering/design experience in building design (power distribution, standby power, life safety, etc.).
• B.S.E.E. from an accredited program.
• Proficiency in engineering CAD tools (AutoCAD/Revit).
• Strong knowledge of electrical system design and applicable codes.
• Experience with electrical calculations (SKM, EasyPower, AmpCALC).
• Experience with medium voltage systems and related telecoms.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects through all design phases: feasibility, assessments, basis of design, detailed design and documentation.
• Break down projects, define scope, budget, and staffing with PM.
• Prepare scopes of work and conduct design studies.
• Coordinate with code officials and other professionals as needed.
• Review budgets, payments, and construction documentation.
