Job summary

AE2S is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design and project delivery for water and wastewater infrastructure across multiple locations, including Maple Grove, MN. The role focuses on power systems, I&C, and SCADA, guiding multidisciplinary teams from planning through construction.

You’ll mentor engineers, manage scope/budget/quality, and build strong client relationships while delivering reliable, sustainable solutions for communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of electrical system design experience.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles, standards, and regulations.
• Adept in providing guidance and strategic leadership to mid-level, senior-level, and project members.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles, standards, and regulations related to electrical distribution, lighting, and special systems, and instrumentation and control systems (instruments, fiber optics, computers, radios, Ethernet networks and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)).

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering design and project delivery for complex infrastructure projects
• Serve as the technical lead across power distribution, lighting, I&C, and SCADA systems
• Manage projects from planning through construction (scope, schedule, budget, quality)
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting business development efforts
• Provide QA/QC oversight on electrical designs, drawings, and specifications
• Mentor and guide electrical engineers and technical staff
• Collaborate across disciplines and with subconsultants to deliver integrated solutions
• Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve electrical system performance
