Job summary

AE2S is seeking an Electrical Senior Project Engineer to lead electrical design and delivery for municipal and industrial water and wastewater infrastructure. You will guide project teams, manage client relationships, and ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery with high quality standards.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of electrical design experience, PE registration or ability to obtain, and strong leadership across power systems, instrumentation, controls, and SCADA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of electrical system design experience.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in Utah or ability to obtain.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles, compliance practices, regulations, and standards.
• Adept in providing guidance and strategic leadership to mid‑level, senior‑level, and project members.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles, standards, and regulations related to electrical distribution, lighting, and special systems, and instrumentation and control systems (instruments, fiber optics, computers, radios, Ethernet networks and SCADA).

Responsibilities

• Provide senior‑level electrical engineering and project management leadership for complex water and wastewater projects
• Lead and support business development efforts, developing strategies to drive local and regional growth aligned with AE2S’s strategic goals
• Serve as a technical leader and trusted advisor, applying advanced electrical engineering expertise across project teams
• Design and oversee electrical systems and components, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
• Conduct research and feasibility evaluations for new electrical technologies and applications
• Lead large‑scale electrical design projects, including project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and performance monitoring
• Provide quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) for electrical designs, drawings, and specifications
• Mentor, guide, and oversee the work of electrical engineers and technical staff to ensure successful project delivery
• Collaborate across disciplines and with external subconsultants to deliver integrated, high‑quality solutions
• Manage client relationships, proposal development, and identification and pursuit of new project opportunities
• Coordinate and participate in internal and external meetings with clients, stakeholders, and project teams
