Job description

Senior Electrical Engineer – Water/Wastewater
Overview

An established engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to play a key role in delivering complex infrastructure projects. This position is suited to a technically strong professional with hands‐on experience in power system design and a passion for leading projects from concept through to construction.

The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in medium‑ and low‑voltage systems, along with a strong understanding of power distribution, system integration, and operational performance. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate across disciplines, contribute to high‑impact projects, and support the development of junior team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of detailed engineering calculations, design drawings, and technical specifications
  • Oversee the preparation of construction and procurement documentation
  • Develop and review proposals, engineering reports, and cost estimates
  • Perform detailed electrical analyses to support design and construction activities
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, facilitating technical discussions and project coordination
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions
  • Support projects through all phases, from early‑stage planning to final delivery
Experience & Qualifications
  • Strong technical knowledge of systems such as generators, switchgear, protective relaying, and electrical distribution (medium and low voltage)
  • Familiarity with control systems, lighting design, and overall electrical system integration
  • Ability to produce and review detailed electrical specifications
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring junior engineers and providing technical leadership
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred
  • Typically 5–10 years of relevant experience within a consulting, A/E, or MEP environment
  • Exposure to water or wastewater projects is advantageous but not essential
Compensation

Base salary goes north of $130k depending on the successful candidate's experience and what they bring to the table. Further details to be shared over first conversation.
