Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking a senior electrical engineering lead to design and oversee electrical systems for diverse building projects. You will mentor designers, guide project teams, and ensure quality through QA/QC, leading meetings and coordinating with clients.

Role requires 10+ years of experience, a US PE, and strong communication. The position supports remote work within the U.S. with a focus on healthcare, education, and commercial sectors.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of related experience.
• Current PE in the United States required.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering.
• Ability to serve in QAQC process and as an independent reviewer.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong ability to interface effectively with clients and members of the design team.
• Able to effectively handle multiple projects.
• Experience in engineering design software (Revit, AGI32, Visual, SKM Power Tools).

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical engineering systems design for building construction and initiate project designs.
• Provide technical leadership to designers and the engineering team.
• Lead project teamwork planning sessions and potentially serve as project manager.
• Design lighting, power distribution, signaling, and communications systems per codes.
• Prepare construction documents, drawings, specifications, and equipment lists.
• Conduct site visits and QAQC checks to verify conditions and progress.
• Interface with clients and the design team to ensure quality and coordination.
