Job summary

Vertiv Group Corporation seeks a Senior Product Engineer to define technical requirements, develop, integrate and support modular IT infrastructure solutions. You will translate customer needs into robust, compliant, manufacturable designs and align with engineering standards and roadmaps.

You will collaborate across Product Management, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales and Quality, engaging with customers in design reviews, supporting NPD, validating BOMs and layouts, and

Qualifications

• BSME/BSEE or related engineering field.
• 7–15 years in product or systems engineering.
• Direct customer interaction in a technical role.
• Experience applying engineering standards and regulatory compliance.
• Exposure to full product lifecycle from concept to sustaining.
• Strong understanding of electrical, thermal, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to interpret drawings and BOMs; familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma is a plus.
• Excellent communication for customer-facing environments.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed setting.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical definition of product solutions across mechanical, electrical, and thermal subsystems.
• Analyze system requirements for rack, row, and aisle-based IT infrastructure.
• Apply and evolve internal engineering standards to ensure scalable designs.
• Support New Product Development from concept through release and validation.
• Validate documents, BOMs, layouts, and integration guidelines.
• Act as a technical contact for customers in meetings, reviews, and presentations.
• Translate customer specs into manufacturable product solutions.
• Contribute technical input to proposals, drawings, and solution narratives.
• Address customer questions, deviations, and change requests throughout lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Quality and Manufacturing on production issues and improvements.
