Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Project Engineer to support new product development and product sustaining tasks for Global Rack Power Distribution within the IT Systems line of business. You will lead development projects, define steps to design offerings, create BOMs, and coordinate with procurement and suppliers to meet schedules and cost targets.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering or other engineering degree with design/development experience.
• 5+ years’ experience in engineering design or product development.
• Electrical and electromechanical knowledge preferred.
• Experience with electromechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Working knowledge of mechanical 3D CAD modeling; sheet metal design is a plus.
• Experience with PLM data-entry and BOM creation (e.g., Oracle, Agile EC).
• Ability to interpret safety agency standards (UL, IEC) for safe product design.
• Strong multitasking and cross-functional teamwork; excellent planning and communication.

Responsibilities

• Define project engineering scope and assumptions.
• Work with project managers to prepare schedules and track milestones.
• Generate work estimates, timelines, and cost estimates.
• Develop solutions to complex problems with little precedence.
• Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, and process engineering; coordinate design reviews and cost metrics.
• Work with manufacturing to build prototypes and provide direction.
• Write, submit, and release engineering changes in PLM.
