Job summary

Hoar Construction in Huntsville, AL seeks an Electrical Preconstruction Manager to lead conceptual budgeting and detailed estimating of electrical, low voltage, lighting, and related systems for large commercial or industrial projects.

This role collaborates with HPM team members to forecast scope and pricing from drawings and specs, including site distribution, overhead and underground, and infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
• 7+ years of experience in pre-construction/estimating for large projects.
• Advanced knowledge of construction cost estimating, value engineering, budgeting and scheduling.
• Proficiency in MS Office and estimating/scheduling software; BIM/Trimble experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and train others to perform cost budgets for electrical, low voltage, lighting, and power distribution systems.
• Prepare and maintain electrical system estimates and value optimization options.
• Communicate with manufacturers, vendors, GC's, owners; review proposals for scope and pricing.
• Review drawings for discrepancies and prepare quantity surveys using 2D/3D tools.
• Lead a team to provide conceptual budgets and iterative detailed estimates as design develops.
