Job summary

Seattle City Light, a department of the City of Seattle, seeks an Electrical Power Systems Engineer (EPSE) specializing in overhead and underground distribution for customer and systems engineering applications. You will act as a lead engineer, performing complex design considerations for service and system projects, and mentor junior staff, including review and PE stamping.

If bring PE from another state, expect up to one year to obtain Washington registration.

Qualifications

• Requires six years of progressively responsible, difficult or visible electrical power systems engineering experience.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Exercise technical expert judgement as lead engineer on long-term distribution projects.
• Lead teams in selection, procurement, installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems.
• Develop power stabilization and system capacity improvement plans.
• Prepare specifications and evaluate bids for electrical equipment.
• Perform project management on large system capital improvements.
