Job summary

City Light Department seeks an experienced engineering leader to direct, plan and design the electric transmission, distribution, and substation systems. You will supervise engineering, substation, meter shop personnel, and consultants involved in planning, design, construction, and operations.

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required, with extensive, 10+ years’ practice; must be a WA-licensed Professional Engineer or pursuing licensure and hold a valid WA driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely-related field.
• Extensive experience in planning, design, specification preparation, maintenance, project cost estimating and scheduling (typically after 10 years as a degreed engineer).
• Must be a registered Professional Engineer (Washington State license or pursuing WA registration).
• Must have a valid Washington State driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Directs, plans, organizes and designs the work of the engineering activities of the City Light Department in the construction, operation and maintenance of electric transmission, distribution, and substation systems.
• Supervise engineering, substation, meter shop personnel, and consultants involved in system planning, design, construction, substation operations, and metering.
