Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Preventive Maintenance Electrical Technician to lead preventive and predictive maintenance for critical electrical systems. You will manage power distribution equipment, breakers, switchgear, and related infrastructure in secure facilities, applying advanced diagnostics and preventive strategies.

You will mentor junior technicians, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance across all activities.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI w/ Poly clearance required
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical/trade education preferred
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical maintenance in industrial/critical facilities
• Experience maintaining circuit breakers, switchgear, and power distribution systems
• Strong knowledge of AC/DC systems, three-phase power, electrical protection and grounding
• Proficient with electrical test equipment (multimeters, infrared, etc.)
• Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, and one-line diagrams
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and decision-making skills
• Ability to work independently in high-reliability environments
• Physically able to access electrical rooms and lift equipment

Responsibilities

• Lead preventive and corrective maintenance for complex electrical systems
• Inspect, test, maintain and repair wiring infrastructure including breakers, switchgear, panels, transformers
• Conduct infrared thermography, load analysis, insulation resistance testing, breaker testing
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical failures and system inefficiencies
• Maintain motors, VFDs, PDUs, UPS, and MCCs
• Perform breaker racking, testing, and coordination per standards
• Mentor junior technicians and share best practices
• Collaborate with mechanical/HVAC/controls/facilities teams
• Keep accurate CMMS records and reports
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA and internal safety procedures
• Monitor system performance and recommend upgrades or replacements
