Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Operations Technician to join the MDS facilities team. You will operate, maintain, and repair critical building systems including HVAC, BAS, generators, and electrical distribution, while leading Junior Technicians and ensuring safety and documentation compliance.

Qualifications include TS/SCI w/ Poly clearance, 2–3 years in heavy equipment maintenance, and strong troubleshooting skills. The role requires night shifts and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Requires TS/SCI w/ Poly clearance.
• Night shift availability as part of regular schedule.
• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of hands-on automotive or heavy equipment maintenance/repair experience.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, cooling systems, and electrical wiring.
• Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, chassis charts, and diagnostic tools.
• Proficient with hand and power tools for disassembly/reassembly.
• Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance, including brake adjustments and valve grinding.
• Strong troubleshooting and failure analysis abilities.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and repair critical infrastructure systems (HVAC, generators, BAS).
• Lead and guide Junior Operations Technicians in daily tasks and troubleshooting.
• Maintain documentation for inspections, repairs, and logs.
• Respond to alarms, outages, and emergencies with corrective actions.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams during outages and emergencies.
• Analyze operational data to detect inefficiencies or equipment degradation.
