Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Project Manager / Estimator for a well-established Northern California electrical contractor in the Bay Area. The role blends preconstruction estimation with ongoing project leadership on diverse educational, public works, and commercial sites.

You will prepare budgets and bids, review drawings, manage change orders, and lead client meetings, ensuring projects stay on time and within budget while collaborating with leadership and field teams.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating and managing commercial electrical construction projects.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, distribution, lighting, and low-voltage infrastructure.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Experience with public works, education, healthcare, commercial, or institutional construction is highly preferred.
• Proficient with estimating software, Excel, and project management platforms.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual, budgetary, and hard-bid electrical estimates.
• Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and solicit vendor/subcontractor pricing.
• Develop project budgets, schedules, manpower forecasts, and procurement plans.
• Manage commercial electrical projects from kickoff through closeout.
• Lead client meetings and maintain relationships with owners, general contractors, architects, and engineers.
• Manage change orders, RFIs, submittals, material procurement, and project documentation.
• Monitor project financial performance, productivity, and schedule compliance.
• Coordinate closely with field leadership to ensure successful project execution.
• Support Design-Build and Design-Assist delivery methods.
