Job summary

Nexamp is seeking a Senior Electrical Performance Engineer to be a deeply technical independent contributor focused on improving reliability, availability, and performance of Nexamp's solar PV and BESS assets, currently over 2 GW under management. You will apply advanced electrical engineering analysis to field operating systems and drive data-backed improvements.

This hybrid role can be based in our Lawrence, Boston, New York City, Chicago, or Washington, DC offices and reports to the Director

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
7+ years of electrical engineering experience.
2+ years in solar and protection relays.
Professional Engineer license is a plus.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Own plant protection, controls, and compliance strategy across settings.
Engage with utilities on grid-interaction issues and interconnection compliance.
Optimize protection schemes, relay timing, and inverter control functions.
Improve design standards, fleet consistency, and sourcing decisions.
Lead data-driven reliability and loss reduction efforts with field data.
Manage fleetwide monitoring and diagnostics strategy to reduce false positives.
Develop models and standards integrating power systems with data analytics.
